Cloudbeds announced Cloudbeds POS on October 22, a native mobile point-of-sale product for hotel restaurants, bars, spas and shops, available so far as a pilot for select customers.

According to the Cloudbeds release, managers set up outlets from the desktop while staff take orders and payments in a mobile app on a phone or tablet, with orders routed to kitchen and bar printers. The system accepts cash, Tap to Pay, Pay by Link and room charges, and a bill can be split across payment methods. Room charges post to guest folios or house accounts, and outlet sales appear in the same Cloudbeds reports as accommodation revenue. Orders, cash payments and discounts can still be recorded when the connection drops, then sync on reconnect.

What it means for operators

In our reading, the pilot status is the first fact a buyer needs. The release gives no general availability date, no pricing and no list of supported hardware beyond phones, tablets and printers, so a hotel planning outlet changes for the holiday season should get those answers in writing before committing. The release also does not mention table management, reservations or inventory, which a hotel with a full-service restaurant should ask about directly.

The product matters most to independent hotels and small groups already on the Cloudbeds PMS that run a restaurant, bar or spa on a separate system. Cloudbeds says that setup forces teams to re-enter purchases and check room charges by hand, and that purchases can be missed on a guest’s final bill. Properties on other PMS platforms are not the target of this release.

It is the second module Cloudbeds has added to its platform in six weeks, after its revenue management system on September 15, and it follows the company’s integration with Meta’s Muse AI agent.
